I couldn’t find a date for when Foobot’s servers went down. Airboxlab never announced it anywhere I could find, and their old consumer site now forwards to a business product. If you know when yours stopped, tell me.
You can get readings back without opening the Foobot. foobot-local points the monitor’s Wi-Fi chip at a small server you run at home (a Raspberry Pi is plenty) and decodes the readings itself. You’ll need to be okay editing a config file and running a Python script.
What to do
- Read the foobot-local README. You’ll need a Linux machine with Python 3 and dnsmasq.
- Follow its steps to point your Foobot at that machine.
- If the Foobot fell off your Wi-Fi, the project has a reconnect tool too.
Your old history on Airboxlab’s servers is gone.
